"the TRUE highlight of this film is the INCREDIBLE performance of Pancho Moler as the ruthless Dr. Death"

Bullying is a personal issue for me, so when I read the synopsis of Candy Corn, I was highly intrigued to check it out as I'm into bullying revenge movies... especially when it's horror.

Candy Corn is about a simple boy named Jacob Atkins (Nate Chaney), when we first meet him, he is working for a visiting Carnival. However, things take a turn for the worse when on Halloween weekend he is beaten to death just outside the Carnival by a group of bored bullies.

The Carnival leader Dr. Death (Pancho Moler) takes pity on Jacob and decides to take action by resurrecting Jacob by way of a Voodoo ritual and gives him an awesome looking mask.

This allows Jacob to come back from the dead... just different... like crazy Serial Killer different. Jacob then sets out to hunt down the people who wronged him one by one, to enact his revenge, all whilst being pursued by Local Sheriff Sam Bradford (Courtney Gains) with a little help from Marcy Taylor (Horror Icon P.J Soles).

This was a lot of fun to watch. There's nothing I love to watch more than bullies getting their comeuppance, and they certainly GET THEIRS with some at first dull kills, that soon become very creative as Jacob spreads terror over the small town.

But the TRUE highlight of this film is the INCREDIBLE performance of Pancho Moler as the ruthless Dr. Death, who is determined to teach this small town a lesson to never treat people who are different like freaks. It was also good to see such horror icons like P.J Soles and Tony Todd show up for this movie too who made their presence felt in this movie but I wish we had more from Tony Todd considering how incredible of an actor he is.
