American actor. He has had supporting roles in films such as the Matrix series, The Five Heartbeats the Spike Lee film Get on the Bus, Ray, and Barbershop 2: Back in Business. He also had a voice-over role in the Legion of Super Heroes animated series. He also starred in the ABC TV series Commander in Chief and the movie Titus as Aaron the Moor. He had a recurring role in the sixth season of 24 as Muslim civil rights activist Walid Al-Rezani. Currently, he stars in the Broadway show Radio Golf.
Lennix was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of a machinist father and a laundress mother. He is the youngest of four siblings, and attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary South and Northwestern University, majoring in Acting and Direction. He taught music and civics for several years in the Chicago Public School system and is a frequent lecturer.
