Date of Birth : May 16th 1953
Pierce Brendan Brosnan was born in Drogheda, Ireland on May 16th 1953. He made his screen debut in 1979 on the television show Murphy’s Stroke but is was his role in Remington Steele three years later that made him famous. His suave performance as the mysterious con man made Pierce one of the most popular actors on television.
Over the next two decades years Pierce made nearly twenty movies and television shows with highlights including The Forth Protocol (1987) and Mrs Doubtfire (1993). However, none of them made him the international star he deserved to be.
In 1995 all that was to change when he received a phone call from the James Bond producers informing him he’d been chosen as the next 007. It was the role Pierce was born to play and he didn’t disappoint. His four outings as the sexy spy helped rejuvenate the flagging franchise and finally made Pierce one of the biggest actors in the world.
