Date of Birth : Dec 12th 1948
Wilkinson was born Thomas Jeffery Wilkinson in Leeds, West Yorkshire to Thomas Wilkinson, Sr., a farmer. He moved with his family to Canada for several years when he was young, but returned to England, where he graduated from the University of Kent and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Wilkinson lives in London with his wife, Diana Hardcastle, also an actress, and his two children; Alice and Mollie.
That success was followed up by Oscar and Lucinda, Wilde, Shakespeare in Love, The Patriot, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Normal, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Batman Begins, In the Bedroom, for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor, and Separate Lies.
In the New Year’s Honours List published 31 December 2004, he was credited an OBE for services to drama.
