SYNOPSIS
The Party’s Just Beginning. In the bleak Scottish winter, witty and sarcastic Liusaidh (Karen Gillan) is spiralling into a reckless, drunken, mid-twenties crisis. Filling her days and nights with casual joyless sex, junk food and a belief in ‘the power of positive drinking’ she’s plagued by visions of her best friend Alistair (Matthew Beard) throwing himself from a bridge. With bittersweet memories of the time spent with her friend, Liusaidh struggles to connect with anyone until a chance encounter with a stranger from out of town (Lee Pace).
Tackling a range of mental health and gender issues with a jet-black streak of Scottish humour, Karen Gillan crafts a bold, challenging and finely observed comedy-drama in this must-see debut work.
