"A thrilling ride"

Five years after losing her friends in a tragic event a former storm chaser, Kate Cooper is convinced by and old friend to confront her past to further the study tornadoes in the hopes of stopping them from destroying small towns across America. During her journey she is joined with not only a team of scientific experts but a group of social media influencers led by Tyler Owens who study (and mess around) with the devil's tail.

Twisters is an excellent attempt to bring back the old school 90’s Summer Blockbuster feel that is faithful to its 1996 predecessor. Very well cast with British Actress Daisy Edgar-Jones as protagonist Kate alongside Transformers: Rise of the Beasts star Anthony Ramos. But it’s Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell who stands out as the enthusiastic and confident Tyler Owens; a famous social media storm chaser who is in it for the fame and glory.

I had a smile on my face for a lot of this movie with its intense action, drama and a great soundtrack featuring Luke Combs' ‘Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma’ and a compelling score by Benjamin Wallfisch. I thought it was a nice touch to see the soundtrack being heavily promoted all over social media too. The movie does make its best effort to explain the science of tornadoes too and shed light on the world of storm chasers in middle America.

A thrilling ride from academy award nominated director Lee Issac Chung that I strongly recommend seeing in either IMAX or 4DX.
